General Meetings for SPCUG

June 2024: General Meetings 

Meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of most months online via Jitsi.  Some classes may be in person at the Shipley Center.  Club business and an educational offering are usually on the agenda.  On October 8th, 2022, Steve Solberg presented a SIG (remotely) on how to share files and photos on a home network, set up a network printer and configure a router. On November 12th, 2022, David gave an introduction to Linux class. On December 10th, Steve gave a class on using Portable Apps. (Check out the video on the Resources page.) 2023 started off with Alan teaching a class on CAD.  In February, Glen did a follow up class on Linux. Bob gave a class in March on backing up computer data with Acronis Backup Software. Jim and Jon talked more about backup in April.  In May, there was a Q & A about cell phones. Alan gave an in-person class on 3D printing on June 10th.  We took a break for the summer, then resumed September 9th, where we discussed the future of the group. On October 14th  NOLS older adult librarian Corrina Desmarias gave an overview of the many internet resources at the library. Steve gave the November presentation and Jim talked about raspberry pi in December. 2024 began with our new president, Glen, talking about Linux, which is an OS favored by several members. February 2024 included a discussion by Jim about the MS, W-10 update KB 5034441 error.  In March 2024, Jim and Steve teamed up and gave a helpful presentation about system related security and recovery apps. In April, Jim discussed issues with Windows and in May presented the topic: Linux for seniors.  We resumed meetings in September with Steve sharing an owl cam footage project.

SPCUG PC Outlaws. Planning and tech group for SPCUG. The name derives from the early board of directors sometimes known as the PC Posse and in keeping with that theme became the PC Outlaws.
